Summary

Develops and implements improvements in manufacturing process by studying product manufacturing methods and process flows. (heavy manufacturing production floor presence)

Essential Functions

1. Provide support for continuous improvement activities:
   1. Develop layouts (AutoCad, DWG)
   2. Prepare time and motions studies, BOMs, routings, Work Instructions
   3. Chart process flow, Control plans, PFMEA
   4. Perform research on best materials and methods for manufacturing
2. Provide project management for larger projects
3. Prepare and maintain Gantt charts
4. Coordinate with Lean teams.
5. Participate in Lean events and follow up on approved improvements to insure their effectiveness and continued value.
6. Provide leadership by guiding the activities
7. Periodically report on progress
8. Seek assistance when confronted with obstacles
9. Provide support for any major equipment and process installation and setup.
10. Interface with equipment manufacturer, operations, maintenance, safety, quality
11. Train affected employees
12. Establish maintenance schedules, calibration needs, safety guarding and procedures, etc.
13. Working with Operation Management establishes goals for improvement in Safety, Quality and productivity.
14. Create and produce supporting documentation required for CAPEX on equipment (ROI)

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

A heavy floor presence will be a priority in this role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Travel

Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

Required Education and Experience

1. BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Manufacturing/industry experience.
2. Management/Leadership experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
